Due to the distances between major sights in Jordan, many visitors choose to hire a car at Amman airport and drive around to places like Madaba, Petra, Wadi Rum, Jerash, and the Dead Sea.

Driving in Jordan is relatively straightforward. You drive on the right hand side of the road in Jordan, and almost all rental cars in Jordan are manual transmission (stick shift).
